In friendship we trust

Friends, where would we be without them? As I got older and wiser(I hope) I realize how important and beneficial to your life friends can be. Having a friend who appreciate you and really knows how to listen is precious. Being a friend who can also do those things is priceless.

As of now, all my friends are a little bit mad(no offense!) but I am fine with that as I think it makes my life so much more interesting. Plus my friends probably think I am a little mad as well and I am grateful that they have accepted me for who I am. In a long run you would realise instead that the only sane people in life are the ones that you don’t know very well… you have not found out that weird little habit they might have, or certain traits that they have not portray.

Lately I have been in touch with a few school friends whom I have not seen or spoken to in years and you know something? People don’t really change that much character wise. The friendly and nice people you use to see in school are still that, friendly and nice. That friend whom you think is a bitch/bastard is still that too.

I am blessed to have some absolutely fantastic friends, some made recently and some I have been friends with for *gasp* 10 years!! Being casual with friendships is a thing of the past for me as I can no longer take on or let go of friends with the ease I did 5 years ago.

It’s good to have friends =)

Its a long ride....

When you encounter unpleasant stuff early in the morning or after a long day at work.

This entry states..... the top 4 things I dislike seeing on the MRT/bus!

1. Reading newspaper.

I have nothing against people who read the papers and want to keep themselves updated on the daily happenings before getting to the office.

However, we have to squeeze ourselves into that tiny container we call MRT/bus and some people who are oblivious to the surroundings are reading Straits Time/ZaoBao with their hands stretch wide open on both sides and not holding on to the railing. Now these are the people I have a problem with.

Two things that usually happen:

-They keep falling with any sudden stops at different stations. Best of all they don't even apologies!

- Their hands knock onto someone while they are turning the pages. This can happen when the person is sitting down or standing up. It just depends on who is the victim.

Frankly speaking, there is a very simple solution to all this. Just fold the damn paper in half and read it with one hand while using the other to hold on to the railing !

2. Playing their fav Mp3 music/ switching ring tones with the speaker

Seriously, we are not interested in what you are listening. Of course the people who does that are the primary and secondary school kids. Sigh it truly reflects on the upbringing if the parents are there and they allow this to happen.

3. Cutting their nails

Urmmmm, cutting your nails at home won't take up much time. Its disgusting to see your dirty finger nails flying about everywhere and hear the clipping noise generated.

4. Digging their nose

Yup you would think in our modern society, this should not be happening. I have seen it happen twice and both of them are ladies probably in their mid-30s! Shame on them. Its appalling to see them doing this and flicking the dirty stuff on the floor *shudder*

Its amazing how much " interesting" things we can observe in such a short trip.

Dream Versus Reality.

What happens when the image you have in mind is different then what is actually happening in real life? In our mind we all have certain way of how our life would turn out to be and then *wham* reality is nothing like that!

So tell me. How do you distinguish day dreams from what is achievable? How do you know what is better left off as something to dream about?

I used to tell myself, I would like to have a glamourous job such as being an events planner, a lawyer, a high flyer working in a bank. Yup I would be given opportunities to host big events, fly to different places because they need me to. It would all be effortless and that is the point that I know it is simply a lovely day-dream. Real life is never effortless. I guess its all those novels, dramas and movies, brain washing us with ideals of a perfect life and getting there is oh such a breeze but we all know better as we get older.

Of course in all the shows they are perfectly groomed, fabulous hair, nice figure and a strong sense of personal attitude and style (four things I am not and yet always aiming for.) Well this I feel is more than a day-dream because maybe if I work hard I just might get there one day even though I have been dreaming about this for the last 8 years now.

Well another example of day-dream and reality crashing with each other- shopping for clothes. Reality me needs some sensible shirts and skirts for work and casual T-shirts and shorts for normal days. The day-dreaming me purchase dresses, shoes, earrings, bags and maybe a perfume because a gal has to smell nice! Sometimes I wake up in the morning getting ready for work and I had in mind what would look nice on me that day. Real me open up the cupboard and I realise I have nothing to wear.This is all so confusing.

Anyway I digress too much but the point of this entry. We all have dreams. Some of them follow it through at all expense some suceed but some don't. Those who failed just seem stupid and sometimes they might even lose more then what they have when they started.

So how far should you follow your dreams?

7 things I am looking forward to....

1. Overseas trip

I want to go for a trip far away from Singapore's hectic lifestyle.
As much as I appreciate the stable and safe environment I have been given, I think it is good to have a get away once in a while to rejuvenate. Plus most people tend to do stuff they normally would not have done in Singapore. That is one of the perks of it !

I would love to go Korea, Japan, New York, London.......

2. Inner sporty gal

Yes.... I want to be a sporty gal again. Well.....a little more sporty then what I am now. I feel like such a lazy cow sometimes.

Cycling at east coast would be good, tennis, badminton even going for a little jog would be nice. I used to find it a good way to release stress. Shame on myself for slacking off ......

3. Mahjong

I love playing it because it involves skill, strategy, calculation and a certain amount of luck. Gets your mind thinking !

4. BBQ ~

I know the weather in Singapore is crazy and the preparation is troublesome as well. But it is always fun to have a group of friends come together, smell the food from the bbq, cursing and swearing about the heat and smoke from it all. Last but not least playing games to get each other to finish the huge amount of food that are left uncooked. Hhaha....

5. KTV.....

It is like the best way to vent out all those pent up emotions and sing to your hearts content !

6. Finishing that huge pile of DVDS and novels I have bought.

Seriously I used to be able to get through them within a week. Lately I started getting sleepy trying to finish one chapter of a book.

I remember when I was younger, books are the way to let my imagination run wild and read about places I have never been before. Guess you could say it was a way of trying to escape from all my daily homework and household chores then !

7. Bumper car

I was watching a Korean drama and there was a scene with a huge group of people playing bumper cars. It got me thinking..... when was the last time I did that? Reflecting on that, it was probably 3 years ago? Bumper car has always been my favourite section of the amusement park =)

Back to the blogging world.

Not sure why I have a sudden desire to start blogging again !

I guess I have all this pent up thoughts recently which I feel would be great blogging subject. However I'm going to be realistic and get myself to blog at least once a week and probably reflect on my course of actions. Blog about my dreams and goals which starts to get a little hazy after I started work.

As usual daily affairs got the better of my mind and soul and I wonder why it started being a chore to take just half an hour out of a week to blog.

I'm glad to be back in the blogging world =)
